Job Shadow Program
The Victor Valley College Job Shadow Program is a collaborative effort between the Friends of the Foundation and the Guidance and Counseling Center. The program is designed to match students enrolled in the Guidance 100 course with professionals, ideally VVC Alum, in the career of interest for a job shadowing experience.
This is an important time in a student’s academic journey and the program aims to bridge the gap between their academic interests and the future career path they may choose. Each student will have the chance to network with professionals in a work setting while focusing on a potential career they are interested in. During the job shadowing experience, the student will be asked to conduct an interview pertaining to the career pathway and business they are matched with. Each professional involved will have the ability to make a difference in a student’s career path by hosting a student in their workplace for a day or half day.
Student matching will take place during the month of September 2016. Once a match is made, a VVC Foundation representative will be contacting the student and professional to provide contact information so the student and host can arrange a job shadow day that works for both their schedules. Any professionals interested in hosting one or more students should fill out the VVC Job Shadow Host Registration form (Click here for PDF).
