The Victor Valley College Alumni Hall of Fame is pleased to honor inductee for 2016, Patrick Joseph Silvestri.
Silvestri graduated with honors from Victor Valley College in 1980 with an Associate’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He is the current Vice President of Facilities and Construction for Prime Healthcare Services, managing 39 hospitals in 12 states. He also holds a Class A Inspector of Record certification with the California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development. Prior to his tenure as Vice President, Patrick was the Project Manager and Director of Facilities overseeing the construction of Desert Valley Hospital in Victorville.
Silvestri has an exceptionally strong work ethic, extensive range of knowledge about healthcare environments, and is a well-respected and sought after advisor and consultant on health care environmental issues to state hospitals and healthcare regulatory agencies. He is well known for his integrity and dedication to his positions and causes he is passionate about.
Silvestri has belonged to the California Society of Healthcare Engineers (CSHE) for almost 40 years; he has served on the board for 14 years in various roles on the Executive Committee as Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President, and President. He has also served on with the American Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE) for 13 years. In addition to the serving on the Hospital Building Task Force of the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development, Patrick was instrumental in the rewrite of Title 22, the section of the California Code of Regulations that addresses community healthcare facilities. Silvestri also volunteers with the Apple Valley Animal Rescue.
A long supporter of high school students and animals, Patrick serves on the Board of Directors for the Robert Mack Scholarship Foundation, a statewide organization that provides scholarships to high school and college students pursuing studies for careers in healthcare engineering. He has served as the Treasurer of Apple Corps, the Apple Valley High School Marching Sundevils Parent Booster Club. For years, Patrick donated his time and personal vehicle to transport the marching band’s equipment trailer throughout Southern California in support of the band’s performances and tournaments.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Patrick has long been committed to the High Desert community over the years. His passion for education and the betterment of his community is unparalleled.
